Maverick Courtney never expected his life to change so drastically in a single moment. At the time, he was pursuing an online degree at a community college, feeling uncertain about his future and searching for something more.
Then, one night, he decided to attend Freedom Night in America at Dream City Church—a decision that would rewrite his story.
Throughout the evening, SEU-Arizona was mentioned, and Maverick felt an undeniable tug on his heart to learn more. He stopped by the college booth, had conversations with the team, and by the time the night was over, he knew: this was where God was calling him to be.
But the timing didn’t make sense. It was just one week before the start of the school year. Enrolling in such a short timeframe seemed impossible. Yet, when God calls, He makes a way.
In just a few days, Maverick overcame every obstacle, completed the enrollment process, and stepped into Welcome Week at SEU-Arizona. His vibrant personality and heart for community quickly made an impact, and in a powerful moment of surrender, he was baptized—spontaneously, at a pool party.
That moment marked the beginning of a new chapter.
Now, as a senior business student, Maverick has become a leader within the SEU-Arizona community. He is committed to being a light in his workplace, mentoring other students, and using his God-given talents in opportunities like Celebration of Christmas. But more than anything, Maverick would tell you that his relationship with God has completely transformed his life.
This is why we invest in the next generation.
At SEU-Arizona, students are equipped not just academically, but spiritually and practically—to lead, serve, and bring the light of Christ into every sphere of influence. However, for many students, the financial barrier can make it difficult to step into their calling. Each student’s tuition is $10,000 per year, and we are seeking 40 partners to help sponsor a student who could be the next world changer.
If you feel called to invest in the future of the Church, we invite you to partner with us. Your generosity could make it possible for the next Maverick to step boldly into God’s plan for their life.
